Windows NT and IBM OS/2

The QuickBooks 5 package bears the legend “Runs on Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.” No mention is made of NT XE "Windows NT" or OS/2, and XE "OS/2:IBM" Intuit’s position is to the effect that QuickBooks has not been tested under Windows NT or OS/2. Practically, users have tested it under both, and have reported erratic results. Correspondence in the CompuServe? QuickBooks Forum indicates that QuickBooks 5 has more problems in these environments than earlier versions.

Help may not work within QuickBooks under these systems. The workaround is to start Help outside of QuickBooks, as a separate program. This may have been fixed by an online update. Beyond that, most of the problems seem to be individual and the solutions varied.
